Outlook is commonly used for e-mails, especially when using Microsoft Office.

But it's not the only e-mail program. 

Thunderbird is open-source (free) and has many advocates.  See the link .

Barca is also keen competition for Outlook and includes some calendar integration features.

Webmail is used by various ISPs (Internet Service Providers), e.g. Google Mail and Squirrelmail .

Outlook Express is the cut-down version of Outlook which is less expensive and does not have the integration functions with Calendar and Tasks. Windows Mail is a more sophisticated version for use with Windows XP and Windows Vista.
