Why use abbreviations when sending e-mails? Print E-mail

It helps to use abbreviations in the subject line of an e-mail so the reader knows what sort of e-mail it is.  Some examples:-

  •  FYI- For Your Information
  • FYA - For Your Action
  • QM - Quick Message (all in subject line, nothing in body of e-mail)
  • RES - response to your e-mail
Of course best if your correspondent knows what the abbreviation means!
